Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) 

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) is a two-year undergraduate programme, approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). As visualized in the NCTE Regulations, 2014 the curriculum has been organized in three broad categories, namely, Perspectives in Education, Curriculum, Pedagogic Studies and Engagement with the Field.  The aim of the programme is to develop the understanding of the teaching-learning process, and competencies to transfer the knowledge for the development of skills, organization and management of the school system at the secondary and senior secondary school level. 

 Programme Objectives:

The objectives of the B.Ed. programme are as under:

1. To enable student-teachers to reflect critically on perspectives of education and integrate the theory and practices in a holistic manner.

2. To provide hands-on experience for accessing and processing information in

improving the methods of teaching and learning.

3. To acquaint with the various psychological facts required for day-to-day handling of the students in schools.

4. To develop competencies and skills so that one can share the responsibility of preparing teachers for diverse situations by using a variety of instruments including ICTs.

5. To develop the ability to analyze and reflect upon professional experience.

6. To understand the process of school education, teacher education and the various factors enriching the processes.

7. To help in the preservation and transmission of heritage and values for preparing the students as global citizens.

8. To acquire knowledge and understanding of the various procedures and techniques of evaluation and their classroom applications.
